Cowboys vs. Seahawks odds, line: 2019 NFL Wild Card picks, top Playoff predictions by model on 16-6 run

Image
The Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks have met 13 times in the last 18 seasons, including a memorable 2007 NFC Wild Card matchup that ended in a botched hold by Tony Romo. Now, the two franchises will meet for the second time this season in an NFC Wild Card game as part of the 2019 NFL Playoffs . The Seahawks won the first meeting, 24-13, back in Week 3 thanks to three Dallas turnovers. However, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the NFL after winning seven of eight to close out the regular season. And given the game is in Dallas, the home team is a two-point favorite in the latest Cowboys vs. Seahawks odds. The Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas believes will be scored, is 43, up one from the opener. Before you make your Cowboys vs. Seahawks picks and NFC Wild Card predictions, be sure to check out what SportsLine’s Projection Model has locked in. SportsLine’s proprietary computer model went 176-80 straight-up last season and beat over 95 pe

NFL DFS for Wild Card Round: Optimal DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy football picks and lineups

Image
The 2019 NFL Playoffs are officially here, and NFL DFS players have plenty to look forward to. FanDuel is running an $800,000 NFL Playoff Special, while DraftKings is holding a $1.5 million Fantasy Football Quarter Millionaire. With a small slate and several injury questions, setting your optimal NFL DFS lineups could be a challenge. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will play despite bruised ribs against the Bears , but against a fierce defense led by linebacker  Khalil Mack , can you trust the reigning Super Bowl MVP on Sunday? Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (ankle) will likely suit up for the Colts on Saturday, but he’s been banged up for weeks and hasn’t practiced. How effective will he be against the Texans on Saturday, and is Hilton one of the NFL DFS picks you should target? Before you lock in any Wild Card NFL DFS rosters, make sure to check out the top NFL DFS strategy and advice from SportsLine’s Mike McClure. NFL odds, picks for Wild Card Round: Proven computer model backing Over in Cowboys vs. Seahawks

Image
The latest NFL odds and spreads for Wild Card Weekend indicate there will be plenty of excitement across the board. In fact, all four games on the NFL Wild Card schedule are expected to be decided by one score, including Saturday’s opening matchup between the Colts and Texans (-1.5). In Saturday’s nightcap, the Cowboys (-2.5) will look to avenge their Week 3 loss against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks . The action doesn’t stop there, as Lamar Jackson leads the red-hot Ravens  (-3) against Philip Rivers and the Chargers on Sunday. The opening round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs wraps up when the defending Super Bowl champions travel to Soldier Field to take on the Bears (-6.5) and their disruptive defense. The line has risen a full point in that game after opening at 5.5. With NFL odds and lines on the move ahead of kickoffs, you’ll want to check out the top NFL picks and Playoff predictions from SportsLine’s proven computer model before making any selections of your own. The postseason field is set and the NFL postseason schedule is largely locked in. Now it’s time to make some picks. There’s no better way than to get really out there and project the full 2019 NFL playoff bracket, which is what I’ll do in between every single round.  For now that involves looking at the actual wild-card matchups and ripping through those, then continuing on with all the matchups. It’s a projection, not a prediction, but you won’t care when you yell at me on Twitter (@WillBrinson).  Make sure and check out all of our picks for the playoffs on the Pick Six Podcast — the daily NFL pod hosted by yours truly, subscribe right here — and listen to our breakdown of the playoff field and Week 17 recap below. All spreads after the wild card round are my projections. Wild card round (6) Colts at (3) Texans (-2.5) – Sat., Jan. 5, 4:35 p.m. ET (ESPN) The two division rivals meet for the third time this year in a rubber match to see who will move on to the next round. NFL Playoffs: Joe Flacco says backup QB not a ‘fun position,’ has advice for Lamar Jackson

Image
After 11 seasons in Baltimore, there’s a chance that Joe Flacco could be attending his final home game ever with the Ravens this weekend.  Since being drafted in 2008, Flacco has won 10 playoff games, including a Super Bowl for the Ravens, but he won’t be the starting quarterback when the team takes the field against the Chargers on the Sunday. For the first time in his career, Flacco is going to be the backup in a playoff game, and let’s just say that he doesn’t sound too excited about being the No. 2 guy behind Lamar Jackson .  “I don’t know if it’s going to be any more different or not [from being backup in the regular season],” Flacco said Friday, via ESPN.com. “It’s definitely not the most fun position in the world. It is what it is.” As for the fact that Sunday could be his final game at M&T Bank Stadium, Flacco pointed out that the Ravens could actually end up having one more game in Baltimore this year.  “I haven’t really thought too much about it, to be honest

Four-time Pro Bowl corner has bizarre explanation for his ugly season with the Buccaneers

Image
When Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes officially becomes a free agent in March, don’t look for him to be making a return to Tampa Bay, and that’s because he apparently isn’t a very big fan of the team.  During an interview this week, Grimes had multiple complaints to make about the Bucs, and it seems his biggest complaint was that the team asked him to shadow Antonio Brown in Week 3. Apparently, Grimes, who made $7 million in base salary in 2018, felt the Buccaneers weren’t paying him enough to justify a tough defensive assignment like that.  “I just couldn’t agree with it ,” Grimes told his wife Miko on her #IHeartMikoPodcast , via ESPN.com. “It’s just disrespectful. People who follow receivers all the time, unless they’re on a rookie contract or trying to get paid, are usually making $13-15 million a year.” According to Grimes, he was so upset by the Buccaneers’ request that it ruined his mindset for the season and caused him to have a bad year.   “That’s not right. It’s d

2019 Tournament of Champions scores: Rory McIlroy in the hunt as Gary Woodland grabs three-shot lead

Image
KAPALUA, Hawaii (AP) — Gary Woodland wasn’t making any putts until he chipped in for birdie, and then he couldn’t miss. Woodland broke away from a five-way tie for the lead Friday by running off five straight birdies, and then finishing with one more for another 6-under 67 that gave him a three-shot lead going into the weekend at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. None of his birdie putts were longer than 10 feet, which helped. But this was more a measure of his confidence, which dates to his work with putting guru Phil Kenyon during the British Open last summer at Carnoustie. “The big deal was just staying patient on the greens,” Woodland said. “It’s very tough putting with the crosswinds and I didn’t see anything go in early, but nice to see the chip go in on 11 and kind of got me going, propelled me for the rest of the round.” Woodland was at 12-under 134. Rory McIlroy had another good finish with three birdies over his last five holes for a 68, leaving him three shots behin
